Many kids want to know how to grow taller. For teens, this is a critical period as they are starting to go through puberty. This is also an important time in their lives as they begin to play sports and express interest in the opposite sex. Being tall can be huge confidence booster during this important time of their lives.

Your height is mostly determined by your genetics but there are things you can do to help yourself be the tallest your genetics will allow. Getting tall begins with nutrition. You should be trying to get all the right nutrients in your body. Make sure you get lean protein, calcium, and sufficient calories. Protein provides the amino acids to build strong muscles. Calcium is needed to build strong bones. Your bones are growing the fastest at this stage, so you need the nutritional support help them grow. Sufficient calories are needed to support growth and fuel your activities. Many teenage diets are full of sugar and fast foods. Limit these foods and replace them with foods rich in calcium and protein.

Exercise is important if you want to maximize your growth rate. High intensity exercises such as sprinting, swimming, and cycling release growth hormones. Core strengthening exercises such as sit ups, crunches, leg lifts, and back extensions will help maintain a good posture. Having good posture while you’re young will help you maintain it when you get older. Stretching exercises are effective for decompressing your spine and stretching your muscles. Being diligent in performing these exercises are important for those who want to know how to get taller. For teens, the best way to be sure these exercises get done on a regular basis is to join a sports team at school. Most sports programs will emphasize stretching, core work, and high intensity exercise.

I need to know how teens can effectively communicate nutrition and fitness to thier parents.?

We teach and provide teens with information to be healthy, but most often the parents still control thier diet and are not setting good examples for our children. So when we provide them with this information they also need to know how to communicate this to thier parents in a way that the parents will take them seriously.

volunteer your services and offer to talk to the family as a whole. A lot of parents will usually respect a teen’s decision to try and be healthier, but empower the teens to tell their parents that they would like the whole family to join in. Give them sheets to bring home or books to recommend. Some healthy recipes for them to try out. Also empower the teen to try to state in a positive way they want to make healthier choices. I hope this makes sense: tell them to try to not “insult” their parents for making poor or sometimes uneducated food choices. So, try to steer them from saying things like “I can never eat here! The food is so bad for you!” and other statements of that nature. Parents will just get defensive as they often do when arguing with their teens.

Can You Identify With This Situation? As I’ve aged, I’ve searched for an effective ab work outs regimen to re-gain the six pack abs of my youth. It has become increasingly harder as the years go by to lose weight in that region of my body. And it is even harder to see other people who seem to have naturally sculpted abs with no apparent effort on their part, while I’m slaving away at the gym with no visible improvement.
