Floor Safety

A Safety Valve for Inmates, the Arts, Fades in California
Inmates act out their anger and fear on stage in the only two prison arts programs left in California, where most such programs have disappeared in budget cuts.
Condo owner’s question about a cracked terrazzo floor?

I own the airspace in my 2nd floor of a 2-floor condo. Pulling up the wall-to-wall carpeting, I find that the terrazzo floor is cracked from one end of the unit to the other and probably out the door as well.
If notified, would my condo association, in Florida, be responsible to repair the floor and check the structure’s safety?

Now you know why you hire people like me, to inspect your property before you buy it.
The carpet on the floor would have been a clue to something amiss. Arraignments for an insurance against this sort of thing would have been appropriate.

This is probably nothing more then cracks from the building settling but, you could have it checked out, you don’t say when you bought the place. You could see if the owner you bought from knew about this and was covering it up. If so, there might be a possible law-suit here for “conspiracy” to sell the property.
There is a law about this in Michigan, a properties owners Knowledge about problems and keeping it quiet.
