Cardiovascular exercise….how often?

Normally, I do 30 minutes of cardio every other day. It’s step aerobics combined with strength training using resistance tubes. Should I increase my workout to daily cardio or is it more beneficial non consecutive days? I’ve been considering adding a exercise ball to my fitness plan on the days that I’m not doing cardio. I’m 5″9, 145 lbs. My diet is 1200 calories per day. I would like to lose 15 lbs.
