how do i get more blood to flow to my outer wrist?
my wrist hurts (on the pinky side, just below where the protruding ulna bone is, my doctor said it was the tendon that was messed up).. anyway its not really healing, my trainer tapes my wrist before football practice but its not enough to prevent any pain. it hurts when i rotate my forearm and wrist inwards, so that my palms face my face. i read about this thing called an ‘inferno wrap’ that increases blood flow to certain areas, so that it will heal faster. would that help and are there other methods i can use to increase blood flow to my wrist so that it will heal, otherwise im afraid it will stay like this and never get better.
Tendons and ligaments are medically called connective tissues…and because connective tissues are avascular (no blood vessels running through them, i.e. low blood flow) they take forever to heal. Blood flow is the key (as you know) to healing a wound. Wrapping your wrist will provide the support it needs, however it will not increase the blood flow. Unfortunately, only time will heal your injury. And with a tendon that will take up to 6 weeks. Best wishes ~
